Spritzer bottles, like the ones used for ironing laundry, make great low cost misters. The mist can be adjusted from a fine mist to a strong spray. It's low cost, ready availability and ease of use make this an indespensible tool for the orchidist.

Misting is important to raise the relative humidity. Orchids like a lot of humidity and our growing areas are often too dry for ideal growth. Make sure plants are dry by nightfall to curtail rots.
