This photo shows the plant in the pot at its correct depth. The base of the lowest leaf should be about an inch below the rim of the pot.

Start out with fresh, moist media. For right handed folks, hold the plant steady with your left hand. Scoop up your potting mix with your right hand and scatter it around the roots of the plant. Tap the pot and plant gently to settle the media around the roots. Continue this process till the media is at the base of the lowest leaf. Use your fingers to gently push the media down. Add more media if necessary to bring the level of the media to the base of the lowest leaf. If the plant is too high or too low in the pot, just do it again.

You should be able to gently lift the plant up by its stem without the pot falling off. If the pot falls off, the media was too loose. Try again. Don't worry, you didn't hurt the plant.
