This is yielding large pink to purple flowers with splashes of yellow to almost orange in the petals. Pictured is the first one to bloom, lighter colored with nice form and presentation. Doritis pulcherrima will continue to bloom for months on end. It is a sequential blooming species producing a bunch of flowers. As the first ones to open begin to fade, new ones start to open. I typically begin to bloom these in about a year from this size. I grow this species in the shadier section of my Cattleyas, much brighter than my typical Phal conditions. They appreciate a drier period during the winter.
